Annual Safety Awards Ceremony
Every spring at Mid-States Transport, we hold our annual safety meeting to recognize the drivers who finished the prior year accident-free. It's a tradition that started decades ago and one of the reasons people stay with us for entire careers.
We had a great turnout this year for our annual safety meeting. We want to thank all the drivers for what they do day in and day out. We also want to thank our customers, vendors, safety reps and the SD Highway Patrol for coming out and showing their support at this wonderful event.

Special Olympics Truck Convoy
Once again Mid-States in Sioux Falls was well represented in the Annual Truck Convoy benefiting Special Olympics South Dakota. Over 200 trucks participated in the event, motoring around the Sioux Falls city limits. Together with the Rapid City convoy, the events raised over $81,000.
What Is the Truck Convoy?
The Truck Convoy is a celebration of the trucking industry and its support for Special Olympics. What started as a local event in Florida in 2001 has evolved into an international movement with Convoys in over 24 states and 4 provinces annually.
The South Dakota Convoy began in Sioux Falls and Rapid City in 2003. Since then, the South Dakota Convoys have had a total of 1,971 trucks involved and have raised over $729,000 for the South Dakota Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
How Does It Raise Money?
Participants pay a $100 fee before or at registration. During the event, valuable items are auctioned and the prestigious title of Lead Truck is bestowed.
The Convoy solicits corporate sponsors and engages community partners to contribute financially to this great fundraising event for a great cause.
Where Does the Money Go?
100% of the funds go directly to support and benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run — Special Olympics South Dakota's largest grassroots fundraising campaign.
Special Olympics South Dakota has over 2,500 athletes statewide and is growing larger every day.
